This delicious steak stir fry features a savory and slightly sweet sauce with fresh ginger and garlic. The tender steak is marinated and served with crunchy vegetables.
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, honey or brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic.
Add beef steak slices to the marinade, ensuring they're evenly coated.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
Prepare the Sauce
Whisk together soy sauce, water, sherry, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, white pepper, and cornstarch (if using) in a small bowl. Set aside.
Stir Fry Preparation
Heat a wok over high heat. Add a the of oil and heat it until it shimmers.
Once hot, add marinated steak strips in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove steak and set aside.
In the same skillet, add more oil if needed, then add sliced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Add bell pepper, mushrooms, broccoli, green onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Stir fry for another 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender yet crisp.
Return cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables.
Combine and Serve
Pour the sauce over the steak and vegetables.
Stir well to combine and let the sauce thicken slightly.
Once thickened and everything is heated through, remove skillet from heat.
Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with extra sliced green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
