Notes
Use fresh, Italian or French bread with a crusty exterior and chewy, soft center that won't get soggy as it bakes.
Use fresh garlic, never the jarred or powdered stuff. The flavor is worth the extra effort.
For the best flavor, always use good quality, real butter not margarine. As this recipe calls for adding salt, I recommend using unsalted butter and tasting as you go.
No fresh parsley? Dried parsley has very little flavor so substitute with dried oregano or Italian seasoning.
Sea Salt Flakes work best for sprinkling at the end as it won't dissolve into the butter when baked. The crunch is fabulous!
Want Cheesy Garlic Bread? Add mozzarella and Parmesan on the bread just before baking.
