This White Sangria recipe is a refreshing take on traditional sangria. Perfect for summer entertaining with friends and family.
I love the 4th of July! At home in New Jersey, we gather together and hang out by the pool for the entire day, eat barbecue food, and finish off the day with fireworks. This red white and blue sangria is something I always make for these glorious summer gatherings.

What is Sangria?
Sangria is a drink found in Spain, it is traditionally made with red wine and fruit, sometimes other liquor is added. White sangria is made with white wine or sparkling wine such as cava or prosecco. Now popular all over Europe and the U.S it usually made with the wine or fruit of your choice.
What wine for White Sangria
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to the wine you use. It can be your favorite white wine.
However, I suggest a crisp white wine such as a pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, or even your favorite prosecco if you like your sangria with bubbles.
How to Make White Sangria
- Combine the citrus liquor, sugar, and wine in a large pitcher.
- Place in the refrigerator to chill.
- Add the wine just before serving
- Enjoy!
Tips & Variations
- If you would like your sangria to be a little less intense try adding some club soda.
- If you prefer your drink sweeter why not add some ginger ale or any other soda you like?
- You can make your sangria ahead (without the wine) leave it in the fridge overnight to allow the flavors to infuse. Add wine at the point of serving.
- If you are serving your sangria immediately, make sure your wine is chilled and you serve it over lots of ice.
- You can use any fruit you like for your sangria, why not try a tropical version with mango, papaya, and passion fruit, the combinations are endless!

Let’s Make White Sangria
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 shots of citrus liquor
- 3 apples seeded and chopped
- 1 pint of raspberries
- 1 pint of blueberries
- 1 750 ml bottle white wine
Instructions
- In a large pitcher combine, the citrus liquor, sugar, and wine and leave in the refrigerator until chilled.
- To serve, layer the fruits into glasses and pour the wine mixture over top of the fruit.
