Welcome back to our ongoing renovation adventure! We are thrilled to share an exciting update on our dream home transformation.
Although the room is not yet finished, we’re in the finishing stages of the renovation. Finishing touches, such as wall art and flooring, will come later in the renovation.
As we embarked on the journey of renovating our main bedroom, we were greeted by the remnants of the 90s-era decor that defined the space.
The photos reveal the outdated color pallets and clunky furniture that were once part of the room’s design. The room that was a bonus room (not a bedroom) lacked character and failed to reflect our family’s style and personality.
Making The Room Work For Us
My husband built us a large walk-in closet, and after carefully curating the sleek white walls, black trim, and stunning wood panel mid-century modern feature wall (seen in the top photo), we felt the room yearned for a touch of nature. Incorporating plants into our bedroom design was a no-brainer; their vibrant green hues, organic shapes, and air-purifying benefits perfectly complemented the overall ambiance we wanted to create.
Bringing Life to Every Corner:
Plants have the magical ability to infuse life into any space, and our bedroom was no exception. We strategically placed a variety of plants throughout the room to create a harmonious and serene atmosphere.
From large floor plants that command attention to smaller potted plants on shelves and nightstands, each green addition plays a crucial role in our biophilic design.
Accent Lighting
Our choice of hanging light fixtures adds a touch of sophistication to our main bedroom. The light fixtures feature gold and black ombre globes, providing warm and inviting illumination and serving as eye-catching art pieces. They hang gracefully over the nightstands, elevating the bedside area into a cozy retreat perfect for unwinding after a long day.
Mid-Century Elegance
One of the highlights of our bedroom renovation is the wood panel mid-century modern feature wall, a true labor of love meticulously built by my husband. This wall serves as a stunning focal point, showcasing the beauty of walnut wood in all its glory. The warm and rich tones of the wood create a sense of coziness and add a touch of organic elegance to the room. This thoughtful addition truly captures the essence of mid-century modern design.
To complement the wood panel feature wall, we carefully selected mid-century modern furniture pieces in walnut wood. The furniture exudes timeless elegance, and its clean lines and minimalist design contribute to a sense of serenity in the room. The deep green, gold, and black accents found throughout the space perfectly harmonize with the walnut wood, creating a cohesive and modern interior.
The renovation of our main bedroom has been exciting, showcasing the beauty of the design and the power of my husband’s craftsmanship. We are grateful for the opportunity to transform our house into a home, one room at a time. As we continue with the rest of the renovations, we look forward to sharing more updates on our blog. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey with us! Stay tuned for more exciting transformations and design inspirations.
